Yielding reliable results and minimizing errors in clinical laboratories is possible with the efficiency of total quality management. The most important processes in the analytical phase of total quality management are; Complementary internal quality control (IQC) and external quality assessments (EQA). IQC is, to some extent, used to check reproducibility and accuracy of laboratory test results; EQA is the mean for assessing the inter-method compatibility and correctness of the results.
